OK, wherever you hear the start of the cycle - there's 13 (fast) subdivisions in it. How can that be in 7 ?
Cheers

Because it fades in at the start I was looking for one note that stands out in the reapeted pattern, that being the low note. Doesn't everyone else hear that as the downbeat?
And if you don't worry about stickings or accents and just count it straight, it's clearly in 7.

Hi guys! thanks alot for the suggestions, it's defintely not in plain 7, if you count seven at the top of the phrasing, which I think to some degree we all agree where is You would notice that the groove on the track, skips away from you, so it sounds to me like there's a 16th note beeing cut. Im anxious to play out the stickings for the 13/16 idea, and I'm gonna check it out tonight!.
Thanks alot.

It's in 13/16 as David pointed out. I hear the phrasing more like Timbata's description, but David's shuffle-based groove works too. Nice job, guys.
